The Kingdom and the Royals travel to Croke Park on Sunday to book a date with the rebels on All Ireland Final Day.

Both have beaten provincial champions along the way, both building confidence along the seedy route of the qualifiers.

Meath will saviour this opportunity as the so called pundits will give them no chance against the Kingdom.

Sure the same was said about Meath chances against Mayo and some would have questioned their chances against Limerick. So all credit to this Meath team - as stated before, they possess the same traits of which every great Meath team had - will to win, never-say-die-attitude, honesty and a huge passion for the Meath jersey.

Playing Meath will be Kerry's bogey team

These are all traits that make playing Meath a awkward task in headqaurters. Throw in the fact that Meath seem to be a bogey team to Kerry, well lets say next Sunday match will be a huge test for the Kingdom.

Meath, while they don't have the household name stars of old, they do possess quality players running through the team. Moyles, McGuinness, Kenny, Crawford, Sheridan, Bray, Farrell and Ward are all quality players who are big and physical and can play ball too.

They will need major performances next Sunday from the aforementioned in order to take the scalp of the Kingdom.

One thing is sure and certain about Meath is that they will let the ball in long to the full forward line next Sunday.

Will Kerry's back line be their achilles heel?

They may perceive Kerry's full back line as a weakness, after all didn't the Dubs hit the post/crossbar on 4 different occasions.

Meath persisted with this against Mayo and it eventually paid off in the last 15 minutes when Mayo wilted.

They will believe the same medicine will work against Kerry.

What can we say about Kerry to date. No doubt they were Brilliant against the Dubs, but one must remember their sluggish performances against Cork, Longford, Sligo and Antrim.

A repeat performance similar to any of the above and Kerry can expect Meath to bring them to their knees once again.

Kerry need steady heads - talk of a Kingdom v Cork final worrying

The Horse Kennelly is back on the team, the only change from the team that faced the dubs. Tommy Walsh is a super player to have on the line and no doubt he will see plenty of action next Sunday.

Kerry's heads will have to be right next Sunday. Too much talk all week about Cork by the general public and of the great final Cork/Kerry will be.

Time for  steady, mature heads in the Kerry camp and block off all silly talk. Deal with the huge task that lays ahead first before any romantic talk.

Meath would love to be the baddy

By God wouldn't Meath love to be the baddy in this love story and they won't get a better chance of all ireland final glory.

However the memory of 2001 should keep any supporter or player firmly on their feet. have we forgotten the score Meath 2-14 Kerry 0-05. Kerry's darkest day in headquarters should serve well to the Kingdom. It will remind them of how potent Meath can be on their day and no doubt Sunday will be no different.

Forget the champagne football from Kerry

So how do i see it. Kerry supporters can forget the idea of their team playing the champagne football they played against the dubs. Meath will not allow that to happen and they will make this game into a complete battle.

If Kerry won't match this intensity and determination, well we are in trouble. If Kerry's heads are right and are ready for a battle royale- then Kerry will prevail but by only a few points .

So roll on next Sunday, another great day out in the capital.

  • Aug-29 - GlenroeHello Seamus, this is my first contribution here. My name is Tony and I am from Limerick. I think, this Kerry team will beat Meath easily tomorrow. They set about the task of beating Dublin in a very clinical and ruthless manner. I think they will dish out the same medicine to Meath. I have great respect fot Meath foolball also, but this is a very serious Kerry side, remember, they are hurting from last year's final result, and Jack O'Connor was brought back with a job to do. Jack will have learnt from the Cork matches, the draw and the defeat. Croke Park suits Kerry and they will be at their best again on Sunday. Kerry to win by a big margin and then the rebels will be worried. Can Cork hold Kerry in the championship, three time in one season, no, they cannot. Kerry for Sam, Sam for Kerry in 2009. Tony
